Secure Internet Access (SIA) – Use case Realisation Steps

1       Overview

Secure Internet Access (SIA) allows operating SaaS apps, web apps, and rich-media websites at full speed with secure, seamless, unrestricted access to the internet.

With Secure Internet Access (SIA), you can safely use SaaS apps, open web links and email attachments without the fear of infection.

This document provides you with the step-by-step procedure of how to realize Secure Internet Access (SIA) for your workspace by going through a reference use case.

2       Use case

This Use case defines Secure Internet Access (SIA) for users of a workspace

For simplicity, following points are considered for use case

  • Number of users in workspace are 4, excluding admin of workspace
  • Number of user groups are 2: itadmin and development
  • Number of policy groups are 5
    1. Workspace level policy group for QoS: DefaultOrgQos
    2. Workspace level policy groups: org_threat_urls and org_threat_ips
    3. User level policy groups: itadmin and development

2.1       Prerequisites

Workspace creation. Please follow steps mentioned in ”Getting Started with Workspace” Manual for creating workspace

3     SIA Use case Realisation –Steps

  1. On Service Portal admin console, click on “Policy” as shown below.
  2. On Policy Rule Management page, click on “Upload Rules” as shown below.
  3. Please refer following CSV file for CSV format of policies and groups
  4. Select the CSV file from file browser of your local file system and click on “Open” as shown below
  5. You will see successful upload message and newly added rules in rules table as shown below.
  6. You can also see newly created groups by navigating to Groups page through left menu.
  7. By default, default QoS (DefaultOrgQoS) is created as 1Gbps DL/UL and attached to workspace. You can edit the same as shown below.
  8. You can attach policy groups to workspace by navigating to Workspace Settings by clicking on “Workspace name”, and then on “Profile
  9. Update profile by attaching newly created workspace level policies and save it by clicking on “Update” as shown below.
  10. On User Management page, click on “Upload Users” as shown below.
  11. Please refer following CSV file for CSV format of users and groups
  12. Select the CSV file from file browser of your local file system and click on “Open” as shown below
  13. You will see successful upload message and newly added users in users table as shown below.
  14. You can also see newly created groups by navigating to Groups page through left menu.
  15. You can attach policy groups to user groups by editing each user group.
  16. All Users will receive a mail with workspace and username details. Users can use these details to access the service from client.

3.1 SIA Use case Realisation – Step1

On Service Portal admin console, click on “Policy” as shown below

Please refer following CSV file for CSV format of rules and groups. You can see rules and groups as per use case definition

Select the CSV file from file browser of your local file system and click on “Open” as shown below

You will see successful upload message and newly added rules in rules table as shown below

You can also see newly created groups by navigating to Groups page through left menu

3.7 SIA Use case Realisation – Step7

By default, default QoS (DefaultOrgQoS) is created as 1Gbps DL/UL and attached to workspace. You can edit the values to 100Mbps DL/UL (as per use case definition) and click on “Update” as shown below

3.8 SIA Use case Realisation – Step8

You can attach policy groups to workspace by navigating to Workspace Settings by clicking on “Workspace name”, click on “Profile” and then on “Edit” as shown below.

3.9 SIA Use case Realisation – Step9

Update profile by attaching newly created workspace level policies and save it by clicking on “Update” as shown below.

3.10 SIA Use case Realisation – Step10

On User Management page, click on “Upload Users” as shown below. You can navigate from left menu or from admin console.

Please refer following CSV file for CSV format of users and groups. CSV file is populated as per use case

Select the CSV file from file browser of your local file system and click on “Open” as shown below

You will see successful upload message and newly added users in users table as shown below

You can also see newly created groups by navigating to Groups page through left menu. You can click on group name for next step.

3.15 SIA Use case Realisation – Step15

You can attach policy group to a user group by click on user group. Repeat this step for development user group as well.

3.16 SIA Use case Realisation – Step16

All Users will receive a mail with workspace and username details. Users can use these details to access the service from client
